The Matzkes
We are Tim and Martha Matzke and we serve with Wycliffe Bible Translators in the Solomon Islands. Tim was raised in a Christian home on a farm in South Central Minnesota and Martha grew up in a Christian home in Michigan.
We met at a Wycliffe training course in Texas where we were serving on staff by teaching missionary kids. After we married in May of 1990, we continued serving in Texas until we left for Papua New Guinea where we served four years on staff at another training course.
In 1994, while living in Papua New Guinea, we adopted 17 month old Emily from the Philippines. After returning to the USA in 1995, we began our studies to become literacy specialists. Sarah was born to our family in 1997 as we were preparing to come to the Solomon Islands to serve as Literacy Specialists for our translation group.
