Hetaheta!

Saturday Ian took us to Hetaheta. It's a small island out, 'that way'. It was really fun. Another girl, my age came with us, she's in grade 6 and really nice. It was a little awkward at first. Like, we had only just arrived in Kia yesterday and then this girl comes with us to this island. Her small bro came as well.
So, like I said, it was really fun. We went out on a small motor boat and Grant and I got to sit up in the front for some of it. Once we got there, we leapt from the boat and dashed into the water. It was only after we were in the water that they told us to watch out for stingrays. That kinda freaked me out. But they told me how to walk to scare them away and I was cool with it.
We got all our lunch stuff, the other kids layered themselves in sunblock and the guys discussed going out fishing.
It was fun, the little girls made little mermaids in the sand, I sat on the sand thinking of some intelligant way of starting a conversation with Lynette, mum and Aunt Robin talked and the guys made ready to leave. After some somewhat awkward moments of sitting doing nothing, Aunt Robin suggested we go walk along the beach. So we did. Lynette came with us and we made small talk for abit. I think it was her climbing the coconut tree that broke the ice. Once we did start talking we just kept going. It was so much fun. I would ask her to translate something into her language, she would tell me and then she'd think of story, tell it to me and then I'd ask about something else and, the cycle just kept going. But it was fun, I'm pretty sure she enjoyed it too.
The guys had, by that time gone out and come back with quite a few fish, good size ones too. We got to look at them and then Ian told Lynette and me to go out with him to 'hold' the boat while he fished around. It was closer to shore than the previous outing, but it was still fun to go out and help him. Some of the other kids came with us, so it was more of a kid thing, with Ian. He caught some poisonous fish and just set them in the boat and told us not to touch them. I personally was a little freaked out, with the whole poisonous fish thing, so I spent a lot of time in the front of the boat.
After Ian had caught about twelve fish we headed back toward shore and shortly after, we were speeding back towards Kia. And when we got back, it was basically a 'chill' afternoon. Not much else, happened, I played with the other kids in the village and that pretty much concluded my day.
