A morning at the hospital

Tuesday, September 11, 2007

This morning I dropped the girls off at school and then Timmy, Judy and I went to the hospital to report to the fracture clinic. We waited about an hour for the doctor to come and then we were ushered into the clinic. After a new oxygen tank was tracked down, Timmy was put to sleep and they attempted to set the bone. The doctor was not very hopeful. We were then sent to x-ray. After we waited there for a bit, we heard air conditioners shut down and an technician came out to say that power was out for a while so they would have to stop x-rays until it came back on. It must have not been off for very long because it wasn't long before Timmy went in for his x-ray.

When the clinic got the x-ray they confirmed that Timmy will have to have surgery on Friday to put in a pin and and set the bone properly. Timmy has been a good sport and is such a trooper. I wish I could tell him so, but we have a language barrier as he speaks on Arosi and I can speak only Pijin.

I spotted this woman sitting at the hospital reading the Pijin Bible page which I help produce which appeared in today's paper. That was a bright spot in an otherwise boring and hot Tuesday morning!
